With Learn to Care as the theme of the third workshop of Paws, the experts from respective fields briefed volunteers of the organisation on the welfare of stray animals and maintenance of plants and gave a clear understanding of basic concepts. " If one cant stop a tree from being cut, one can always plant 100 trees to compensate for the loss, " said Punam Singavi, founder of Haryali. Several active nature-lovers from organisations such as Society for Prevention of Cruelty against Animals (SPCA), People for Animals gave the volunteers their invaluable inputs and guided them on the right way to work. Mauieem Scott, 24, involved in animal welfare said, " I was unaware of various issues pertaining to animals. Initially, when I saw bad treatment being meted out to animals, I would fight or enter into an argument with people. But after attending this seminar, I clearly know what is covered as per our law under such a situation. " She further added, " As an individual, I lack the initiative. But collectively, we can definitely bring about change. Thats why I joined Paws. "
