Guest guest
The Deodhani festival held at Kamakhya temple was held last year in the month of August. It is believed that this year too the dates may be more or less the same. Last year many eye wittiness reported that the devotees (mostly tantriks from outside Assam) were seen performing a dance in the temple premises where they were ripping apart using their teeth heads of ducks, pigeons and other birds. Holding young goats and swinging them over their heads in a trance as they performed the scary dances causing the animal to die many deaths before it is finally battered to death. This gruesome blood dance is done in the presence of media and the press. Most of the Television news channels and newspapers have been reporting in depth showcasing the cruelties involved- year after year. This apart from the round the year routine slaughters of animals This goes to prove that there is enough evidence to prove that a violation of Sec 11 of PCA Act takes places on a regular basis.
