Smuggler apprehended, cattle seized in Meghalaya**

* SHILLONG, Jan 20 – The BSF has apprehended a cattle smuggler and cattle

worth Rs 32 lakh were seized in separate raids along Indo-Bangla border.

 

Abdul Hamid of Assam's Dhubri, was arrested while he was smuggling cattle

into Bangladesh from Mantrichar area of Dhubri late last night, a BSF

statement here said.

 

A mobile and a cassette was seized from him.

 

In another incident, 180 cattle worth over Rs 32 lakh were seized from

Bangla border today. The smugglers, however, managed to flee leaving the

cattle behind. – PTI
