Nepal threatened by Indian tigers?

What nonsense. In its anti-India campaign, Nepal will accuse India of

anything. India has been unable to protect its own tigers from poachers who

are supplying the Chinese market. Do you really think such a project is

possible? If India can breed and maintain two to four hundred tigers, and

keep them alive, we would not have a conservation problem in India.

Dear Madam,

You are right. This is a silly joke being

perpetrated by the Nepali media. Apparently they also have issues with the

rhinos being termed 'Indian' since they want to call them 'Nepali'.

Geographically, 'Indian' means the Indian subcontinent of which Nepal is a

part but there are now political issues. I have first hand antagonism from a

Nepali gentleman regarding this. I have nothing against Nepali people, in

fact, there are Nepali people working in my dad's firm, but I fail to

comprehend their anti India rhetoric which seems very popular in Kathmandu.

There may be leigitimate issues they have against india, but it appears

there is much more than this. It is unfortunate the Nepali press is

spreading such malice. It is ridiculous and hilarious to suggest that any

country would consider raising man eating tigers to kill people of other

races.

Regards,

The Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB) is a paramilitary force that has recently

been deployed in some of the most trouble torn bordering areas of UP,

Bengal & Northeast India. There main job is to address

counter-insurgency, miltancy, cross border terrorism and other

disputes.

However of late this para military force has been doing a commendable

job of nabbing poachers, timber mafia and other busting other illegal

wildlife crimes that were on for generations in many parts of Bengal

and Northeast India.

A lot of this has been reported in the media here but most such

incidents have gone unreported.

The SSB is extremely passionate when it comes to safeguarding and

protecting the wildlife of India, and this they are doing not for any

publicity but with full compassion.

I am sure our friends on the other side of the border must be

seriously offended by the fact that the inflow of wildlife and

wildlife products in their kitty from Indian soil is at stake.

Their frustration could be seen clearly when their security personnel

fired indiscriminately at a herd of jumbos. Many of the elephants were

injured.

I would only be happy if 200 to 400 man-eating tigers are sent en

route to China and Tibet through the World's most bloody wildlife

trade route- NEPAL. The tigers wont mind walking all the way clearing

the mess for the sake of all their ancestors who were brutally

murdered.

What a lovely jungle book story.

If only things were as easy as one reads.
