Guest guest
This is not the first incident that seasoned poachers and first-timers are arrested with the animal hides in the State capital. What is surprising is that there were 12 hides of deers (including 3 baby deers) and a leopard skin. And `12' is a big number…if that is the correct number divulged by the authorities. The Swamp Deer or the barasingha is an endangered species of deer and can be seen in protected sanctuaries only. Earlier it was seen across most of North and central India in areas of moist forest and swampland. With the destructions of its habitat, the Barasingha is now seen in isolated protected forests in Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Madhya Pradesh. So keeping this in mind these 3 persons definitely have a racket running that extends from UP to MP. And there must be an aide (poacher) of theirs in Chitrakoot who supplies them with the hides. A little ingenuity on the part of forest officials would reveal to them what and where and how of this entire racket!!!!!!
