GEN SECRETARY: I felt quite disappointed by the lukewarm response received for the first-ever fundraising do organized by PAWS. People always call PAWS when they spot injured animals in their area. PAWS spends a lot of money on providing various animal-care services such as ambulance facility, trained staff & not to mention the several hours spent in search operations, as also making co-ordination calls to rescue the animals. But when these same people were invited to attend the contributory lunch for PAWS, very few responded. There is no need to reiterate that the money collected through such endeavors will benefit the animals in the end! While we happily contribute to social festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Gopal-Kala and Dandiya-Raas, I fail to understand our indifference towards the cause of animals. A thousand drops make an ocean! So it is the responsibility of one and all, to respond when in need! Think over it the next time you call PAWS! For Animals, Nilesh ................................................................. 2. MORE 'ROCKY' NEED YOU! 'Rocky', a male Pomeranian was abandoned near the rocks by the Kalwa creek. When PAWS founder Anuradha rescued Rocky, the animal was in pain; his eyes were full of fear, since we believe he had never lived away from home. Thanks to PAWS, who responded well in time & gave him a new home by placing him in a very loving & caring family! Like Rocky many other suffering animals need help! PAWS is largely dependent on local donations from animal lovers, volunteers & valuable supporters like you. Even a small monthly contribution will make a difference to the life of the injured animals. For Direct Transfer of Donations: Bank : ICICI Bank Ltd. Branch : Dombivli MIDC Branch A/C.
