Guest guest
Dear friends, Deepavalli (or Diwali) is, by definition, the Festival of Lights. Unfortunately, most people celebrate it as a festival of noise, quite often with fire works with decibel levels far above the court-permitted maximum. This is a terrible time for the animals, both on the street and in homes. It is also a terrible time for the environment and for those with respiratory problems with smog levels skyrocketing. At this time, some good news for the animals is that the Animal Welfare Board of India has decided that laws are made to be enforced and have taken on the rich and powerful film lobby head-on as can be seen from the reports below. May I take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy Deepavalli and may all that has life be free from suffering. S.
