Monday, June 30, 2008 (Trichy)

At least two people were killed and more than 50 had been injured in a

Jallilkattu in Trichy.

 

The Jallikkattu was a part of a function organised by DMK partymen to mark

Karunanidhi turning eighty-five. The Injured have been admitted to a

government hospital in Trichy.

 

Reports say proper regulations were not followed. The popular bull- taming

ritual has even before been at the centre of many controversies and had been

banned in Tamil Nadu for some time.
