Our annual Honey Money Days

are just around the corner – and I’d like to invite you to join in

the fun by holding your own event to raise funds for our rescued bears!

 

This year, all money raised worldwide from our Honey Money Days (named in

honour of our rescued bears’ favourite treat) will go towards

construction of a new bear house and two adjoining semi-natural enclosures,

complete with rock pools and climbing frames, at our Moon Bear Rescue Centre at

Chengdu.

 

 

 

Please

consider holding a Honey Money Day for the bears this August or September.

When, where, how and what you do is up to you – all we ask is that you

have fun! You’ll need to register your event through your local Animals

Asia office and we’ll send you a Honey Money Day pack to get you started.

 

 

 

 

 

 

As you know, our rescued

bears arrive from the bile farms in unimaginably poor health – fragile

and skeletal, missing limbs, crippled with arthritis and suffering from a

myriad of chronic ailments, including liver cancer.

 

Those that make it through the months of surgery and rehabilitation need

accommodation designed specifically for their needs. The enclosures and bear

house, which has 12 dens with four metal hanging-basket beds in each, can

accommodate 35-40 bears comfortably. This special environment will give them

the care and safety they need as well as the freedom and fun they so deserve.

This

is where you come in!

 

 

 

We need HK$2.17 million to

complete this work. Please help us reach our target as soon as possible so more

of these majestic, endangered animals can live out their lives as bears, not as

machines for producing bile, abused and forgotten.
