The workshop aims to promote use of humane and scientific methods in rescue and rehabilitation of displaced wild animals. It especially focuses on regional issues including management & rehabilitation of conflict animals like leopards & bears in north-western Himalayan states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand. The workshop is open to forest department personnel (level of senior foresters and above), zoo personnel, veterinarians, biologists, wildlife enthusiasts & NGO's interested / involved in wild animal rescue and rehabilitation. Duration: February 25-27, 2009 Venue: Sher-E-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology- Kashmir, Shalimar, Srinagar Last date for registration: 15th February, 2009. Organisers: WTI, IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare), Jammu & Kashmir Forest Department and SKUAST-Kashmir. Please note: - Boarding and lodging of participants from outside Srinagar will be arranged by the organisers. - The accommodation is limited to a 30 participants on first-come-first-served basis. - Travel cost (Bus / IInd sleeper train fare) of participants from outside Srinagar will be reimbursed. - The total number of participants is limited to 50 individuals.
