A leopard that attacked six persons was killed by villagers at Neeluvagi in Sargur. Also, two elephants met watery grave near the tourist spot Gaganachukki Falls in Malavalli. Around 10 am, the four-year-old leopard began its attack spree. The first victim was Nagaraju who was working in his fields. When it came back to the same fields after sometime and attacked four others, enraged villagers hit it with sharp weapons. It died around 3 pm. The injured persons are being treated at the government hospital in Heggadadevanakote. Meanwhile, two elephants were found dead in Cauvery waters near Ganagachukki falls. As the discharge from Kabini Dam was still high, the bodies were not removed.
