Guest guest
My friend is quoted saying: * " **There is a recent article on animal rights groups promoting pornography which I could share with you. Do you ever ask these groups how they are saving tigers by implementing such policies? " * Well, although I am not aware of any pornographic act by any organisation or individual defending animal right, I do have come across many nude campaigns worldwide. But then there is a vast difference between 'Porn' and 'Nude'. But having said that I would definitely want to see if there is any element of 'Porn' in the article which had been referred to. On 23rd of June I asked Ms. Poorva Joshipura, head of PETA-UK the following question on Facebook, with reference to the " Naked PETA protest at the Spanish Embassy in London " : Q: * " **If baring boobs was the key to defend animal rights, India would have gone cruelty free centuries back. Courtesy: Khajuraho, Ajanta.... Nude does make eyeballs roll, but does that actually help animals??? " * To this this is what Poorva had to say: A: * " **A protestor recently said, “Amazing the impact a little nudity has. Protest fully clothed and nobody pays attention; take your kit off and suddenly people want to know WHY you are getting naked.” Provocative campaigns make the difference between keeping important yet depressing subjects invisible and having them widely seen. While PETA does a **massive variety of important work--pushing corporations to do the right thing for animals, investigations, rescues, other kinds of demonstrations—the key things a lot of people seem to have heard about are the nude demonstrations and the celebrity work—which just goes to show they work the best in getting the media’s attention. But it’s not the only way to help animals, and it’s important to have a large variety of people, with different strategies and different views, pushing for the common goal of animal rights. " * Please feel free to discuss debate on this (Dr. John I hope you don't mind) I do not see any harm in discussing something so exciting and 'natural'. I hope more members would join in and help entertain and myself on this. regards, Azam -- http://www.stopelephantpolo.com http://www.freewebs.com/azamsiddiqui
