Imposing of ban on hunting of wild animals, the process this year has started with Mon district, wherein in order to enforce the provisions of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and to prevent the indiscriminate killing of wild animals and birds in the district, deputy commissioner, Mon, Dinesh Kumar has banned killing and sale of wild animals and birds in the district with immediate effect. All the administrative officers in the district have been directed to inform the village councils to stop killing and sale of wild animals and birds and also to prevent the sale of its meat at eateries or hotels.
