Sub-inspector T Malla Reddy, constable Venkateshwar Chari and home-guard Umashankar Rao of Balamuru police station were held last night for allegedly helping a group of poachers from here by providing them with logistics and guiding them to the forest area where the group shot dead a sambar deer and a spotted deer on the mid-night of April 30, Mahabubnagar DFO Sankaran said. The trio, who have been already suspended, were today produced before a court in Mahabubnagar which sent them to judicial remand till May 15, he said. The Achampet forest department officials had on May one arrested six persons, including two students, when they tried to flee from the forest area after loading the deer meat and skin in their vehicles after killing them. The six arrested are in judicial remand.
