(IN) AFRICAN LION NARSINHMA RESCUED AND SENT TO JAIPUR FOR TREATMENT, CARE AND SHELTER.

*Dear friends,

African male lion Narsinhma was born and brought up with the Asian circus

and Animal Welfare Division issued directions to the Deputy Commissioner,

Gurgaon to rescue Narsinhma along with his parents in 2002 but Rajeev

Gupta, owner of this circus ran away with all three African lions in same

day from Gurgaon. Zee News intimation was received by the International

Organization for Animal Protection in India for a joint operation to rescue

Narsinhma, OIPA in India / PFA Haryana team went to the spot along with OB

van of ZEE NEWS for live coverage of this rescue operation. We have shocked

to know that Narsinhma parents were died in the custody of Rajeev Gupta,

there were no record for the disposal of the male dead body. Asian circus

now closed down but its animals needs attention, Narsinhma rescued and sent

to the rescue centre in Jaipur but three Elephants yet to be rescue, animals

are being used by the beggers of Basai (Agra). FIR No. 152 dated 13-8-2009

lodged with the Police station Purkagi against Rajeev Gupta then he was

arrested and sent to jail for 14 days, on the tipps of undersigned, wildlife

authorty conducted a joint raid with local Police, four trophies were

recovered from his residence, FIR was lodged with the Police station in

Muzaffarnagar also.

Thanx to Zee news and a big question mark on the working of UP Wildlife

department, they might be not interested to rescue the rest of three

elephants, CZA and **Wildlife Crime Control Bureau may kindly see for

further legal actions.*

It is strange that Lion remained there without any attention for years together.

This is a very wonderful work and you deserve praise for your Courage and

dedication.

 

As per record Provided by AWBi about 3 yrs back (under RTI )  Circus  has not

mentioned about any elephants?? may be before 2001 (notification of Performing

Animals Registration Rules 2001) they have abandoned circus `elephants (or Given

for Begging, marriage etc).

Yes acase was booked against Circus in 1998-99 at Ludhiana. It is believed that

the person (probably manager of Circus)jumped bail and never returned. I will be

in Touch with DFO and CWW.
