If Indian Law is not working against Exotic species, The African Lion is

protected by CITES.So Management authority must take into account all the

abovementioned facts. The Lion (cub) can be sent back (repatriated) to its

country of Origin. Here No importance is given to Rules and Laws by those who

are responsible to safegaurd it.

It is complex case.

Deputy Ranger of Purkagi lodged a complaint with the Police station that

Rajiv Gupta failed to produce documentary evidence for a disposal of dead

body of a African lion who died in 2004 where as the representative of the

International Organization for Animal Protection - OIPA in India Naresh

Kadyan also submitted a written complaint with the Police station, Purkagi

for a legal action against Rajiv Gupta for violation of the 38-H, 39 and 63

of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 read with section 3, 11 and 38

of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. It would be pertinent to

mention here that four wild animal trophies were also recovered from the

residence of Rajiv Gupta but state wildlife official's failed in

presentation of facts before the Hon'ble court. No investigation was

initiated by them in case of negligence while disposal of African lioness

dead body and her bones were found by Naresh Kadyan, which were handed over

to the SP City in the presence of SSP, three Elephants also yet to be rescue

but state wildlife<http://www.free- press-release. com/news/ 200908/125046645

are not interested hence the International Organization for

Animal Protection - OIPA in India demanding the transfer of investigation to

the central wildlife crime investigation bureau.

No doubt African lions are not protected under the Indian Wildlife

Protection Act, 1972 but how UP State Wild Life authorities issued ownership

for Ramu and Begam both African species..... ..big question mark on the

integrity of the concerned official which was a criminal conspiracy.
