The 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP15) will be held in Doha, Qatar, from 13 to 25 March 2010. Deadlines for the submission of documents 2. In accordance with Article XV, paragraph 1 (a), of the Convention and Resolution Conf. 4.6 (Rev. CoP13), recommendation a), all documents to be considered at CoP15 must be submitted at least 150 days before the meeting, i.e. on or before 14 October 2009. The Secretariat may under no circumstances accept proposals to amend Appendices I and II that are submitted after that date. Who may submit documents for consideration at CoP15 3. The Secretariat will accept documents for the meeting only if they have been submitted. by a ministry of foreign affairs or by a CITES Management Authority authorized to communicate with other Parties and with the Secretariat, whose details have been provided to in accordance with Article IX, paragraph 2 or 3, of the Convention. 4. Submissions made by other Management Authorities, Scientific Authorities or any other bodies will not be accepted. How to submit documents for CoP15 5. Documents to be considered at CoP15 must be sent by post or courier, together with an official signed letter detailing the submission. The postal seal will serve as proof that the documents have been sent by the deadline. 6. The Secretariat will provisionally record documents as having been submitted if it receives them by fax or by email from an email address included in the CITESy. However, it will record a document as having been formally submitted only when it has received the signed original. 7. Nonetheless, the Secretariat urges Parties also to send their documents by email to info, to facilitate processing. Length of documents 8. Parties are reminded that, as a general rule, documents submitted for consideration at a meeting of the Conference of the Parties should be no more than 12 pages in length. 9. As agreed by the Standing Committee, if the Secretariat receives documents longer than 12 pages, it will ask the submitting country to provide the translations into the other two working languages of the Convention.
