Guest guest
The newspapers reported a few months back that the Government Slaughter house in Trivandrum was condemned by Delhi at least 3 years ago, and still nothing has been done to improve it. It has no inspection Vet there , so one can only guess at the conditions. Cattle are only allowed to be slaughtered at the official abattoir , yet still , months after we took photos of approx 50 cattle being unloaded miles away from the abattoir .Nearby to where these cattle were unloaded , at a place called Paruthakuzhy , Menac, Aud p.o. there is a field of approximately half an acre that a few days ago held 28 cattle (and yesterday fewer) , all very thin and in poor physical condition , all no doubt awaiting slaughter at illegal slaughter houses, probably in a cruel inhumane fashion. We tried previously to involve the Police in this matter , but they were not at all interested. Please can somebody in authority do something to help these poor cattle. www.animalrescuekerala.org
Guest guest
I hope all of you know that Laws aren't meant to be followed in Kerala! If the condition of the Govt. Slaughter house is so, what will the rest be? Animals are slaughtered almost at all junctions and market places, you can always go and see them being tied up on road-sides, sign-boards indicating meat sales etc. Please go through the following link to find pictures of what is going on: http://thebhimaclub.blogspot.com/2009/08/shocking-example-of-quality-of-peoplein\ ..html It would be lovely if anybody could do anything about this horrendous situation.
