The 2009 ANIMAL PEOPLE Watchdog Report on

162 Animal Charities is the 11th annual edition

of a handbook published to help serious animal

charity donors, including those preparing their

estates, to determine quickly which charities

are most effectively addressing their concerns,

share their priorities, and are operating with

fiscal integrity.

 

Each entry includes a summary of the most

recent available financial data, including top

salaries paid, from IRS Form 990 and/or balance

sheets, plus summaries and discussion of major

programs, policies, administrative issues, and

relevant history.

 

Included this year are 113 of the most

prominent U.S. animal charities, including

environmental charities concerned with species

conservation and protecting habitat, plus 49

overseas animal charities whose projects members

of the ANIMAL PEOPLE staff have personally

visited and verified.
