To,

Animal Welfare Board / Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organization /PETA

India & All India Animal Welfare NGO's

It's time for all to write protect e-mails & letters to The Regional

Transport Officer to ban the horse carts and provide Auto Licenses as

alternative for Tonga Owners in Kalyan.

On 31st August PAWS Plant & Animals Welfare Society, a Dombivli based NGO

rescued a Pony lying with broken leg, bleeding in middle of road in Kalyan

city. After receiving the call, PAWS immediately admitted the pony to Bombay

SPCA animal hospital wherein she treated. On 6th September the pony died.

The marks on body clearly states the pony was abandoned by Horse Cart Owner

after meeting with accident. Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal's act

1960, It is a punishable act to abandon any animal, when it sick or old.

The cruelty on horse carts does not stop hereThe Tonga owners beat the

horse to run fastThey cannot run on Tar & Cement roads, often fall & get

injured. Recently Kalyan's main roads transferred into cement and chances of

accident are increased. Many horses & ponies were abandoned on roads when

they are not useful, old & when fall sick. These ponies live on garbage.

I request you all to write a very strong letters & E-mail to
