The programme is open to those special people who have the vision, commitment and enthusiasm to actively support the conservation of crocodiles, one of the most sadly misunderstood groups of animals on the planet. Accommodation space is limited, so only a few applicants will be selected. If you want to be part of our Team Crocodile member contact us now What you can expect to do at the Reptiles Farm: - Lend a hand to Crocodile Keepers by pen cleaning every morning between 7 am and 8.30 am. - Interact with visitors. - Help Crocodile Keepers with food preparation and feeding Crocodiles. - Learn crocodile handling, management and husbandry from Reptiles Farm Limited Staff with year’s experience. - Work on short-term study projects on crocodile behavior and habits. - Croc nesting, egg laying, egg collection and incubation, processing and weighing (May to August) Hatchling measuring, weighing, sexing, and transferring (August to October) - Catch up on the latest in crocodile and other wildlife literature at the Reptiles Farm Limited Library. Help with filing, scanning and reference work. These activities are optional and available at a small extra cost. - Spend a few days at the Dulhajra Safari Park and watch how the crocodiles are kept and displayed in captivity, in the pristine tropical forest near the longest sand beach of Cox’s Bazar. - Hunt for Herps and Herbs with a local friend - Stopover at the largest freshwater fish farm in Bhaluka. - Take a trip out to Khiru River or Old Brahmaputra River in a “country boat”. - Take time off to explore the worlds largest mangrove forest Sundarbans- the home of Royal Bengal tiger and mighty saltwater crocodile. Or Bird Watch or a tree identification walk in the Reptiles Farm Limited own thirteen and a half acres forest ecosystem. The Reptiles Farm Limited is located about 100km north of Dhaka city on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. The accommodation at the Reptiles Farm Limited is fairly basic, and non-air-conditioned. Please do bring plenty of insect repellant and comfortable cotton wear. Charges: The Registration Charges are US $ 250.00 (**BDT 7,500 for Bangladeshi Volunteers/Interns) This fee covers taxi pickup from the Dhaka International airport to the Reptiles Farm Limited, administration and orientation, library use, as well a welcome package which includes Reptiles Farm Limited’s literature, a Reptiles Farm Limited T-shirt and mug etc. The Reptiles Farm Ltd. takes no responsibility for visas or other travel formalities.
