(IN): New Delhi Elephant Polo held succesfully

Thanks to Col. Ahlawat, a 37 year old male from New Delhi who managed to

hoodwink the animal people and organising the game/ sport of 'Elephant Polo'

right opposite the residence of the Prime Minister of India at the 'Jaipur

Polo Grounds'.

Thanks to the Wildlife wardens of New Delhi and Rajasthan for allowing the

12 (twelve) odd elephants to be paraded all the way from Jaipur to play a

game of human entertainment- called Polo.

 

Who says slavery has been abolished from Indian soil !!

 

Who exactly is this man called Col. Ahlawat, who runs this 'Rissala Polo

Club?

 

Is he so powerful that despite cases pending in the court of law against

'elephant polo' he dares to get this organised and sees that it goes of

smoothly right in the capital of India.

 

Well as long as we the animal people focus our sophisticated minds into just

nabbing the 'kalandars' (bear charmers) and the 'snake charmers' this elite

section of the rich and famous will certainly have a gala time.

 

Believe it or not, this 'Rissala Polo Club' is one of a kind organiser of

many animal polo activities and specially : ELEPHANT POLO

Now this has got nothing to do with raising funds or the welfare of the

captive polo playing elephants.

The 'Elephant Polo' game in New Delhi last evening was organised for a

select group of invitees only.

The organiser seems to be fully aware of the opponents of this sport and so

he had smartly planned this event.

Some of the brilliant strategies of the organisers that have been noted are:

 

1. He went out to the press just a day before the event.

2. He did not reveal the venue in Delhi.

3. It was organised on a Saturday where the Courts and Government offices

are closed.

(We tried our level best to get in touch with the Chief Wildlife Wardens,

but in vain)

4. AWBI was informed on the day this news was published of the proposed

event 9th Oct (friday) via email. I got no response from the board.

Neither did Mr. Pablo Tachil who was in Chennai and as he tried the AWBI

landline numbers, there was no response.

 

So overall, all went well with 'Rissala Polo Club' winning over 'Animal

Rights' and proving himself to be a model which can now be practiced all

over India.
