Wildlife Smuggling Routes Locked Down

 

With support from the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund, Wildlife

Alliance is working to strengthen wildlife law enforcement to stop the

illegal trade of threatened animal species from Cambodia to Vietnam,

such as turtles, snakes, crocodiles, pangolins, primates, and birds.

Amur Tiger Release Update

 

Last month, a 14-month old Amur tiger cub was radio-collared and

released near the Ussuriisky Nature Reserve in Russia. Our partners at

the Phoenix Fund have been closely monitoring the tiger's health

and wellbeing. More

NEWS FROM THE RESCUE CENTER

 

New Serow Enclosure at Phnom Tamao

 

An enclosure has been constructed at the Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue

Center for a female Southern serow rescued by the Wildlife Rapid

Rescue Team. She was brought in with a snare injury, which eventually

resulted in the loss of her hoof.

Forest of Ecstasy

Current TV's Adam Yamaguchi travels to Cambodia to look at how the

party industry is destroying Cambodia's forest. He tries to get to the

bottom of how secret factories are using rare trees to make 'ecstasy

oil'. The production of the drug is causing environmental havoc

resulting in deforestation in this fragile habitat.
