half million animals to be slaughtered in Nepal

Southern Nepal,Bara district is preparing to slaughter half a million

animals,ranging from buffalos  to roosters,goats ,ducks etc,on the 24th and 25th

of November,2009 to appease the goddess GHADHIMAI. Sangeeta Goswami

,Chairperson,of the organisation,People For Animals,Guwahati,Assam,India, sent a

letter to the Prime Minister of Nepal,requesting him to stop this illegal animal

sacrifice.She has also sent letters to the Indian Prime Minister and the Chief

Minister of Assam State and also the chairperson of the All India congress

Party,Sonia Gandhi interfere in this protest and ask the Nepal P.M. to stop this

cruel practice.
