Guest guest
*Animal Sacrifices: Animal People at fault* ** One can NEVER address the issue of 'Religious Animal Sacrifices' if our mindset is more inclined towards 'ANIMAL WELFARE' than 'ANIMAL RIGHTS'. The animal people should first ask themselves the BIG question: *Do we want the animal to live a dignified life, or live a healthy/ cruelty free life that would eventually end up as food for the human brethren ?* ISLAM says: " It is prohibited to scare the animal ..... You are to show mercy, even upon slaughtering it. " Read more: http://www.modbee.com/life/faithvalues/story/943625.html#ixzz0Xa6udmLY Now wont my friends who belive in humane slaughter agree to the above statement? We are so divided in our own platform of animal people that the world would just laugh at us everytime we cry " STOP ANIMAL SACRIFICE " . I do not see any valid reason why people who claim to have a heart for animals would tend to debate this issue. Who are we to decide on the welfare schemes for animals? Be it finding humane methods of slaughter, or ethical means of extracting milk and other produce. Who gives us this RIGHT? By setting such standards are we not disolving ourselves to the philosophies and the principles of those religions which demand animal sacrifices? Why cannot we talk straight, NO KILL ! Thats all. FULL STOP, Thats it !! To those who feel that this is NOT POSSIBLE, well try your hands on some other rights- but stay away from projecting yourselves as someone who cares for animals. Just how long can we allow such double standards to survive? In my eyes the believers of humane animal slaughter and other stupid concepts are MASKED CRIMINALS. Their crime is CHEATING. Cheating the animals, because they cannot speak, they do not understand the politics that people play over their lives. Guest guest
Dear Azam, No slaughter can be truly " humane " no matter how much we try to rationalize. In my years with animals, I have seen terrible scenes - in slaughter houses, in places of worship, in laboratories, on the roads, in the fields, and - sadly - in animal shelters. I can justify - though I may be wrong - killing only when it is to put an individual animal out of suffering. However, we are in a transitional period and, sooner or later, true wisdom will dawn on us on this subject. Till then, we have a duty to reduce the suffering we see and can do something about. S.
