Guest guest
Brooke Babington sent a message to the members of STOP! save hk's cats and dogs. Dear HK Animal Lovers, 2010 plans to be another busy & exciting year for ALL animal welfare groups in HK. Just a quick update on how you can help or get involved... * As you may know, Hong Kong Dog Rescue is moving location/premises very soon--I am sure they need all the help they can get--please adopt/volunteer/donate time or money if you can. The good news is they will have a huge new site in Lantau where the dogs can run around. http://www.hongkongdogrescue.com/ * Vincent at Lifelong Animal Protection http://www.facebook.com/l/a65a0;www.lap.org.hk/adoptdog.html is still looking for a home---can someone give this dog the loves he really really deserves? He is a survivor in the truest sense of the word. * SPCA is working tirelessly again trying to get TNR up and running---please also look into participating in their annual Wag 'N' Walk January 31st http://www.facebook.com/l/a65a0;www.spca.org.hk/eng/news/petwalk10_index.asp * Animals Asia is also holding a walk to highlight the plight of animals http://www.facebook.com/l/a65a0;www.animalsasia.org/WalkForHarmony/ February 28th in Happy Valley. They are also in need of volunteers for their Doctor Dog program and Professor Paws---which are both very successful community services in HK. * Hong Kong Alley Cat is always looking for cat fosters http://www.facebook.com/l/a65a0;www.hkalleycats.com/ . They are also trying to get the Cat Colony program up and running in Shek-O. If you live there and can help--- please have a peek at their website. Again, look into your closest /favorite (so many!) animal shelters/groups and help out in 2010. A little goes a long way. Onto STOP---- this year we will be highlighting the smuggling of animals/pets from China, working on the TNR issue again, getting stricter pet shops regulations implemented and maybe starting a " monitoring " group ( any interest please email us) , educating the community about desexing and why you should ADOPT. DON'T SHOP! Some of our pr /education / events will include this year: DON'T CAGE YOUR BITCHES a PR event in FEBUARY KNOW YOUR PETS RIGHTS Q & A Forum (is your building management trying to evict your family members out?) in MARCH SAFE SEX 4 PETS II party in APRIL SMUGGLING PR event in MAY ( or sooner if we can pull if off) DESEXED IN THE CITY in SEPTEMBER WOOFSTOCK (bands/beers/dogs/ outdoor event and will feature all your favorite animal charities) in OCTOBER PETS ARE LIFE, NOT FOR XMAS in December We are always in need of volunteers---don't be shy--we are a fun group! and most importantly the OPEN STOP MEETINGS--come and learn what's really going on behind the scenes! Bring your friends--we are a mix bag of people from all walks of life--from pole dancers to lawyers! but we all love animals and want to help--and we are pretty groovy as well--- 1st Tuesday of the month----FEBRUARY 2, APRIL 6, JUNE 1, AUGUST 3, OCTOBER 5, DECEMBER 7th---mark your calendars Love, Your friends at STOP http://www.hkstop.org/ -------------------- To reply to this message, follow the link below: http://www.facebook.com/n/?inbox%2Freadmessage.php & t=1109742762433 & mid=1b4f0caG2\ a3fc322G3b0b69fG0
