Guest guest
Korea animal protection groups will have a press conference in front of Chinese embassy in Seoul, to support the Chinese draft law to prohibit eating dogs and cats on February 2. It starts one o'clock in the afternoon will have a performance to show our support. China is leading country in Asia. We encourage other world animal organizations and activists to issue the statement or call the Chinese embassy to support the draft law. --- Statement to support the Chinese draft law to prohibit the eating dogs and cats Welcoming 'A Draft of Prohibition on cruelty to animals in China', we strongly ask the South Korean government to have Prohibition law on eating dogs and cats. " Whoever eats dogs or cats will be sentenced to 15 days' detention or fined 5000Y, " the Chinese Institute of Social Sciences declared in its Draft of Prohibition on Cruelty to Animals on 2010, January 26. Many people across the nations have been concerned about the animal abuse in China. It's only a draft, but now, this announcement is important and greatly welcomed with open arms! This draft contains not only prohibition on eating dog and cats but also on giving animals unnecessary pains. It excels Korean animal protection law in its definition of animal cruelty. Korean animal protection law is incomplete as it does not include 'unnecessary pain' to define cruelty. We, Koreans stand by this advanced draft of prohibition on animal abuse in China and will continue to give support. After China, Korea also should make the law of prohibition on eating dogs and cats. Once again, we welcome the Chinese draft law on animal protection.
