" As a gemologist/former fine gold artisan and as Director of Development for

Animal World USA-International, I request that you withdraw all sponsorship

for 'elephant polo' and any other format that subjects animals to suffering

for the sport or pleasure of humans.

For all the beauty of Cartier jewels, they will not confer upon the wearer

the proper gift of creative appreciation, if they are in any way aligned

with the bringing of suffering to the animals that are so frequently

modeled. I request that you withdraw your sponsorship of 'elephant polo' now

and forever. "

*You will be glad to know that since the November 2006 'Cartier Cup Elephant

Polo Tournament' the Jewellery Giant has stayed away from organising any
