Your grievance number is CMO/PGC/2009/534248 dated 26-2-2010 Elephants are being ill treated, abused for pride, personnel gain and for profit purposes, where as Elephant is a scheduled one protected animal under the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972, some time these Elephants became harmful to the Society due to ill treatment with them by their masters, crowd, noise, sound, crackers, light and so on. People misused these Elephants for marriage, advertisements display, political functions and gathering and begging ; it should be banned in Delhi. It would be pertinent to mention here that there are no proper care, treatment, food and shelter for these Elephants. As per Central Zoo Authority observations Elephants are abused in Zoo's, where Government machinaries are involved, budget provisions are there but these so called owners of these animals don't have sufficient space, budget provisions, reasons to keep them in private captivity then why wild animals / Govt. property as per section 39 of the Wild Life Protection Act, 1972 allowed by the administration and what are the reasons behind?. In Mumbai local body authorities banned captive Elephants entry in their jurisdiction many years back then why not in Delhi ; capital of India. Hence the International Organisation for Animal Protection - OIPA in India demands immediate rescue of these captive Elements, legal actions against their so called owners, all rescued animals be sent to their natural habitat or to any rescue centers / national parks to safe guard public life, property and protect the animals from unnecessary pain and sufferings. *Video clippings of Meerut incidents as evidence........... -- - - - - Naresh Kadyan http://nareshkadyan.webs.com/ Representative of the International Organization for Animal Protection in India, http://www.oipa.org/oipa/news/oipaindia.html Chairman, PFA Haryana http://www.pfaharyana.in +91-9813010595 , 9313312099 http://nareshkadyanbook.blogspot.com/
