Guest guest
Bobby and Mandy [bobman_967] Thursday, April 29, 2010 3:01 AM Indonesian dog fighting To whom it may concern, With regard to previous emails expressing concern on the matter of dog fighting, please understand that we remain concerned and are yet to be informed of a specific response on the matter from your organisation's and Government Authorities. Referral to " Supervisors " and " Departments " has been actioned by only some of you, we now seek your organisation's specific response. In terms of Internet outcomes, the dog fighting networks are on the move, one example above. We do not seek to remove these groups' activities from advertising on the Internet, we wish to criminalise these activities, and seek local investigation at all levels in all communities for prosecution of perpetrators. We are serious in our concern, and believe that increasingly the Indonesian and International layperson and caring community will lose easy sight of their activities, to the detriment of dog welfare in Indonesia. Please understand, that many individuals involved have been identified and this information has been forwarded to you previously. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. Similarly, that local people have expressed worry and fear of retribution in reporting animal fighting activities. This is of grave concern. We urge the International Animal Protection networks and Government of Indonesia to take up honest and thorough investigations of dog fighting in Indonesia. We urge the Indonesian Government to address matters of abuse, dog fighting and Game tests. We understand the Indonesian Animal Welfare Law below. Please advise us if this is not correct, and we would be appreciative of corrections to our interpretation of the Law. We are also aware that the Law does not specifically criminalise animal fighting, and urge your attention to this matter. According to the current Indonesian procedural Animals Welfare law chapter 302, any physical type of crime or abuse that one makes against their own animals should be taken into either of the actions below. THESE REGULATIONS ALSO APPLY TO PARTIAL OWNERSHIP AND HAVING THE ANIMAL(S) UNDER ONE'S WATCH WHEN THE STRESS TOOK PLACE. (1) Maximum of three months incarceration or four hundred thousand rupiahs fine (equivalent to £25) ONLY for the specified categories of abuse stated below: 1.1 Physically hurting an animal on purpose to gain one's pleasure. 1.2 Physically hurting an animal under one's watch by not catering for their needs (i.e feeding them). (2) If any of the abuse resulted in permanent physical agony (i.e major injury to death), one could face a prison sentence of maximum of nine months or three hundred thousand rupiah fine (equivalent to £19). (3) Repossession of the animal could be taken into action if culprit happens to be the proven owner. (4) A close attempt or non convicted charge as in lacking evidence, one will not be prosecuted.
