Dear all,

Despite a campaign which we ran some years back different online shopping

sites still offer pujas including animal sacrifice at different goddess

temples in Nepal.

See for instance :

p & SrcCityID=0 & DelCityID=0>Sacrifice

with bokha means goat, parewa means pigeon.

One actually receives a video film of the ritual...

What online puja does it that it sanitises animal sacrifice. One does not

have to go through the motions of buying the animal, transporting it to the

temple, finding a priest, seeing the animal being killed, taking the

headless creature back home, skinning and cutting it...Paying a few dollars

through credit card gives one the satisfaction of having appeased the

goddesses without all the hassle.

We will design a campaign against these online ventures and request you to

send letters to the providers.

(Recalled in England was a quatrain of World War I, attributed to J. C. (now

Sir John) Squire:

God heard the embattled nations sing and shout

" God strafe England " and " God save the King, "

God this, God that, and God the other thing.

" Good God, " said God, " I've got my work cut out. "
