Guest guest
On Saturday 08 May, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) China and the China Animal Protection media salon co-sponsored a workshop on Humane, Scientific and Sustainable Rescue of Stray Animals. The workshop was to give the Beijing authorities, including Beijing General Veterinary Station (cat management authority) and Beijing Police Department (dog ownership and rabies management authority), a platform to demonstrate their progress in dog/cat ownership management in the past few years in collaboration with IFAW and other local organizations. The workshop also aimed to alarm the authorities that in Beijing¡¯s World City initiative, government agencies need to adopt preventative measures to reduce of the number of abandoned animals in the demolished areas and to seek humane and sustainable solutions.
