Guest guest
Princess Alia Foundation [paf.jordan] Saturday, April 03, 2010 3:36 AM info Jordan Zoos Dear Sir/Madam, Your e-mail was forwarded to us by The HCAW and we read with interest the information on your website concerning the zoos in Jordan. The Princess Alia Foundation has been trying to address the terrible situation in the zoos in Jordan and in January of 2010 a number of animals in desperate need of medical attention were confiscated. This was the first time that animals were confiscated from the zoos. The government in Jordan is also addressing this issue and up until yesterday, we have had no legislation in Jordan for Animal Welfare. Now that we do have legislation we are hoping that we may be able to address the zoos more aggressively in order to remedy the situation for the animals and also for the local populations who are at risk for many reasons while visiting the zoos. We appreciate your concern and wanted to assure you that we hope to be able to address the situation and remedy it. We would welcome any further observations, comments or advise concerning this situation.
