The soil over the graves of the two female elephants died some days back in

Assam maybe still moist but the ruthless eyes of Indian Railways seems

severely dehydrated and can never shed a tear.

Because they have managed to nurture and bring up one of the World's largest

network of 'Killer Steel Monsters' called the 'Trains'.

Kill an elephant in India under public eye, and it is most likely that you

will end up 7 years in prison.

But NO laws, NO rules, NO authority, seems powerful enough in present day

India to DEMAND THE SAME FOR INDIAN RAILWAYS !

Sounds crazy but if any elephant were to ask whether we animal people

sincerely care enough for them.

The answer would be, yes we certainly do:

Following is a list of the BEST we 'Indians' have been doing so far:

1. Holding discussions, meetings with the Forest+Railways+State

Government+NGOs.

2. Holding more discussions, meetings with Forest+Railways+State

Governments+NGOs.

3. Holding more and more discussions, meetings with Forest+Railways+State

Governments+NGOs.

4. Now that the frequency of deaths has increased, we may have weekly or

daily discussions, meetings with Forest+Railways+State Governments+NGOs.

Elephant Knocked to Death by Speeding Train in Assam

GUWAHATI | MAR 20, 2010

A male elephant was knocked to death by Rajdhani Express early today in

Assam's Karbi Anglong district, official sources said.

The speeding train, on way to New Delhi from Dibrugarh, knocked down the

elephant near Lamchakhan station bordering Karbi Anglong and Nagaon

districts at around 3.30 a.M.

The elephant died on the spot and the train was halted for a brief time, the

sources added.

Animal activists have condemned the incident and said such incidents have

been occurring regularly as railway tracks have been laid through elephant

habitats.
