Guest guest
" Creating a safe and healthy living environment for man and dog " `CANINE LIFE SUPPORT' working for animal welfare in Sri Lanka www.caninelifesupport.com Canine Life Support – a very small charity providing free health care and surgical operations to street dogs & cats as well as pets of poor people in Sri Lanka by way of mobile outreach clinics to rural and coastal areas. http://www.caninelifesupport.com/CLS/Visual.html ANNUAL REPORT 2009: http://www.caninelifesupport.com/CLS/Blog.html Every year, people die, as a result of rabies. Sri Lanka is a developing country where the means to fight this deadly disease are not as readily available as they are in other parts of the world. Rabies is a killer. Canine Life Support works to fight rabies and to create a safe and healthy living environment for man and dog in Sri Lanka. CLS sterilize stray, community and owned dogs and vaccinate them against rabies as well as other diseases. This is part of ongoing humane animal population control and rabies eradication programmes that are country wide. CLS run education projects to inform local people and kids in schools about rabies, how to prevent dog bites, about animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. CLS work according to a protocol: Catch - Treat - Release. This means that they catch the dogs, treat them (sterilization, vaccination and if necessary other treatment) and then release the dogs back into the same area they were caught. " We do not operate as a permanent shelter, because that seriously decreases the number of dogs we can help " . " Informing/educating people are one of our major goals. When people know how to interact with animals and how to prevent confrontations with animals we will decrease the number of bite incidents " . http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=357364959383 & ref=mf http://www.facebook.com/pages/Canine-Life-Support/95252433762?ref=ts PLEASE HELP CANINE LIFE SUPPORT ~ THANK YOU
