Dear friends, As you all know of the protest that is scheduled to happen at jantar Mantar, tomorrow, i.e April 24, 2010 in New Delhi. but apart from that a similar protest is happening in Central london with similar issues related to animal cruelty. The details of the protest at london are below. Please inform as many people to join this demo tomorrow at Delhi and London. thanks Rishi Dev Citizens For Animal RIghts. PRESS RELEASE: To mark World Day for Animals in Laboratories, campaigners from all over the UK and beyond will be marching through central London this Saturday April 24 to call for an end to animal experiments. The rally will begin with speeches in Cavendish square, followed by a march through the centre of London, taking the anti-vivisection message to large numbers of shoppers, tourists and residents The theme of this year's march is " Justice for the animals " in response to the massive increase in animal use in laboratories across the UK, and especially at some our of universities. Despite claims of being a leader in animal welfare, the UK sadly lags behind countries like Switzerland, where an independent committee of scientists recently prohibited invasive monkey brain experiments in that country. The protestors will therefore be calling on the public to step up pressure on politicians and academic institutions to catch up with countries like Switzerland. Says veterinary surgeon and one of the organisers of the march, Andre Menache, " Animal experiments have no place in 21st century science and the longer the scientific community denies this, the more shame it will bring upon itself " . - End - For further details: Website: www.wdail.org Email: info ------------------------------
