*Kathmandu, May 5 (PTI)* Nepal police have arrested 11 people for allegedly

slaughtering a cow, the national animal.

 

The police arrested six men and five women from Waling in Syangja district

in western Nepal in connection with killing the cow on Tuesday night,

according to the police.

 

It is illegal to kill the cow in Nepal which is the national animal of the

country.

 

Hindu Nation Volunteers Association has issued a statement condemned the act

and demanded stern action against those responsible.
