Guest guest
Barb, It's a seasoning blend and I always find it of all places, by the seafood in the market. I looked on the net and found a recipe for a substitute. They just might not sell it in Canada so hopefully you have enough of these spices to make a batch up. It's wonderful in faux crab cakes and faux tuna salad too. Enjoy the not-clam recipe, it really is a good one. Here's a sub. Substitute for Old Bay Seasoning. Ingredients 1 tablespoon ground bay leaf 2 1/2 teaspoons celery salt 1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, ground 1/4 teaspoon mace 1/4 teaspoon cardamom Combine well and store in an airtight continer. --- On Mon, 8/25/08, Barb <tigger_twins wrote: Barb <tigger_twins Old Bay Seasoning Monday, August 25, 2008, 6:26 PM Donna, I was going to make your linguine with not-clam sauce tonight but I don't know what the old bay seasoning is. Can you please let me know so I can make it tomorrow instead. Barb, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
