Hi Cathleen,

My name is Pam, I'm new to the group and also new to vegetarianism.

You mentioned that you are interested in nutrition and vegetarianism.

My biggest concern is getting enough protein.  Can you point me in

the right direction to where I can find out how much protein a healthy

adult should get in a day.  And also what other sources than meat we

can get protein from (I know beans are a great source).  Thanks for any

advice you can give and nice to meet you.

Hi folks! My name is Cathleen and I thought I'd introduce myself having

just joined today. I am a 49 y/o vegetarian since the age of 14 (yeah,

a looonnnngggg time ago!). I come from a long line of farmers who were

absolutely mortified by my decision to shun meat <Grin> but it's the

best one I ever made and I still feel that way. I am a professional in

the health care field and have always been interested in nutrition and

vegetarianism, so I am delighted to discover this group. My goodness -

no wonder you were voted one of the best, from what little I've seen so

far I am very impressed! It looks like an awesome site!! I'm going to

have a great deal of fun checking out all the recipes and the

conversation here!
