Good morning. (The clock hand just swung to noon here.)

I'm new to the group and just wanted to take a moment to introduce

myself. I'm a 38 year old female from Tennessee. And, so far, what

I've read has been informative, interesting, and, from time to time, a

bit humorous. It's nice to see the group has a sense of humor!

Like many people, I grew up eating meat in a family of hunters and

fishermen/women, but I was unable to stomach anything but eggs, ground

beef, and, on occasion, fish. Even as an infant, I was unable to

stomach traditional formula or cow-milk; my mother finally found that

soy milk was the only milk to which I did not have an allergic

reaction. At some point, though, cow milk was introduced into my diet

and I still drink it.

I live in a part of the country where ordering fish baked or grilled

instead of fried makes people look at you very strangely. (LOL)

However, I'm searching for information on how to delete what meat

products I do eat from my diet while still consuming a healthy amount

of protein in a balanced diet. I eat quite a bit of vegetarian burger,

beans, some nuts, and some raw tofu. (I've not yet learned to cook

tofu in such a way so that it doesn't taste like a Goodyear tire.)

So, that's why I'm here. Hoping to study, learn, open up my mind more,

find some great recipes, and, hopefully, kick the remaining meat

products out of my diet.

I wish everyone a great day containing a lot of laughter!
