Guest guest
This is completely OT, but I know that you are a group of pet lovers and I'm hoping that someone here may have some experience of this. One of my cats has just been confirmed as diabetic. I had suspected it since last week as she was drinking water by the bucket load and flooding her litter tray. It must be borderline as the first set of tests showed her to be diabetic, a second lot seemed to say she wasn't and a third test today indicates that she is. Thankfully I have pet insurance. It will have to be controlled with daily insulin injections and a special diet and the vet is hopeful that if she loses some weight she may be able to reverse it. Does anyone here have experience of this? I am a bit nervous about giving the injections but she is a very affectionate cat and loves any attention. I understand that the needle is very fine so I'm hoping that she won't be too bothered by it, if I can incorporate it into a daily petting and grooming session. If you have been through this I would be grateful if you could contact me off-list. TIA Christie
