Guest guest
A Success Story: I have used so many tasty non meat, veggie products, since May, that my DH is now quite happy having the vegetarian foods all the time! We talked about it, and he said he liked them and if he ever wants a meat product, he knows what restaurants have them. No more meat buying, nor separate meal plans. I took this as a real plus and a positive change for us, in our quest to lower cholesterol, triglycerides and to lose weight. Thanks for the encouragement here on the group, the swell recipes, and the excellent " chat. " Adding my thoughts about meat replacement: I have really enjoyed almost all the commercial meat replacement foods. The ones that have smoked flavor were the only ones I wasn't fond of, they seemed too strong or " chemical tasting. Guest guest
Congrats!!!! That is great news! My hubby is pretty much the same way, thank goodness. He bought a pack of chicken breasts and they sat in the freezer for about a month, and then they sat in the fridge, cooked, for about 2 weeks. He only ate one breast. Every other meal I have made didn't need any supplement for him. Plus, half the time he complains how the meal is not filling enough if there is no meat, but, he has been sooo stressed at work, that my serving size dwarfs his almost every night I know he just likes to give me a hard time. Anyway, the meat supplements were a great starting place for me as well. It made the transition easier with making meals, and now we use them once a week, and use beans almost every night. I found a great full of fat salad dressing from The Gazebo Room, and now I am eating a big salad every night. Amazing how a dressed up salad with arugula, mixed greens, avocado, pine nuts, diced roasted red peppers, and sprouts can change a girls mind right around. Enjoy your ease of meal preparation! Guest guest
Good for you, Barb. We love to hear success stories. I don't use meat replacements other than Veet, and that only very rarely, but my husband is completely satisfied with the vegetarian foods I serve. He goes out, with the guys for lunch and he can have a greese burger if he wants, but at home he eats healthy.
