Guest guest
MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master v8.06 by AccuChef www.AccuChef.com Title: Chunky Cooked Apples Categories: Side Dish Yield: 6 Servings 6 tart apples, such as Macintosh or Granny Smith, -cored 4 T unsalted butter 3 T sugar (more or less to -taste and -depending on the apples) 1/2 t cinnamon Pinch of salt Water as needed [Note: This recipe could be served as a side dish with any number of meals, but it is a must with pork and sauerkraut. And it makes a great dessert, possibly served with some good spice cookies or cake. From Teri's Kitchen online.] Place apples in saucepan. Add butter, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add just enough water to cover bottom of pan. Cover and simmer over low heat until apples are mushy, adding more water if needed or removing cover to evaporate excess moisture. Taste for seasoning and add more butter, sugar and/or cinnamon if desired. Mash the apples to the desired consistency; I prefer to keep it chunky. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature. -----
