My mother did it with toasted bread, butter and sugar. This was broken up in warm milk and it was truly comfort food. In fact, I am now old enough to be retired and I sometimes make it for myself. in Northern Illinois ************** Looking for simple solutions to your real-life financial challenges? Guest guest
We often had milk toast for breakfast or lunch. Our mother toasted two bread slices in the toaster, buttered, salted and peppered it and added hot milk. It seemed to me that the *heal* was the choice piece of bread. The very best milk toast was home made bread , a bit stale, and whole milk fresh from the cow. Deanna in Colorado

Guest guest
I'm Italian so it's Tiramisu (means pull me up) and after I eat a few slices you have to pull me up off the chair. Joe
Guest guest
I've never heard of this until the group talked about it last year. I used to butter bread and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and cardamom and put under the broiler for a very short time. I haven't done that in years. I never poured anything on it though. Guest guest
Mile high lasagna with garlic bread. I could eat that for 3 meals a day, hot or cold. Gene
