Guest guest
I think when this came up last year regarding Coca Cola it was in their non coke flavors but only in the U.K. Not the U.S. Would be a good thing to follow up on. I know Coke tastes different in Mexico so maybe the different plants out of the U.S. Use their own formula. (soooooo hoping that coke is not one of them) thanks, Chanda - christie_0131 Wednesday, September 24, 2008 8:55 AM Re: vegetarian rennet I would recommend that you always read the label or check out with the company. Over here in the UK I can buy ready made pastry that is suitable for vegans and most cheese here is labelled if it is suitable for vegetarians. If there is no label saying that something is suitable for vegetarians/vegans then I will assume that it isn't, unless I discover otherwise. I'm not sure if your labelling is as good in the US. If you contact a company then you also need to check that their definition of vegetarian is the same as yours. When I contacted CocaCola about their drinks, it was only by chance that I discovered that fish is used in the colouring of some of their yellow coloured drinks. The customer service person that answered my email did not seem to think that this would be a problem for many vegetarians. Guest guest
It tastes different in Mexico because they use sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup because their government does not dictate the use of sugar like our corrupt government does. ) hugs, Chanda - thelilacflower Vegetarian Group Wednesday, September 24, 2008 9:17 AM Re: Chanda Re: Coke I think when this came up last year regarding Coca Cola it was in their non coke flavors but only in the U.K. Not the U.S. Would be a good thing to follow up on. Guest guest
They also formulate it differently (just like winemakers do) to accomodate each country's taste preferences. For example, in Mexico, they prefer a MUCH sweeter Coke than in the US. The George Du Boeuf winery blends much differently for US vs UK vs French, Australia, etc. I only happen to know this as we were given a private tour by them some years ago and they said that George himself oversaw this.
