Guest guest
I can't have ice cream due to my allergy so what I do is soften vanilla soy ice cream and I stir in a little pumpkin and some cinnamon and cardamom and freeze. Close enough to the real thing for me. There is an ice cream parlor near me that makes pumpkin ice cream, it's awesome. Pumpkin anything actually, oh and apple cider (got some of that over the weekend at my organic farm) goes great with ginger snap cookies. wwjd <jtwigg " vegetarian_ group " Monday, September 29, 2008 1:44:58 PM Question of the Week - What foods do you associate with fall and why? Question of the Week: What are foods and recipes that you associate with fall and why? Fall is such a beautiful time of the year. Time for picnics in parks, camping and drives to see fall colors. Time for cosy evenings with a campfire or fire in the fireplace. Time to harvest, decorate with fall items. Cook and bake favorite recipes. Time for sports. Raking leaves while the crockpots simmers with wonderful smells. Please share your favorite reasons you love this season, your memories and traditions, recipes and foods that you associate with all of this. I'm glad so many take the time to share with the questions of the weeks. It starts many wonderful discussions and gives us all great idea. here's to lots of fun, Judy
Guest guest
Is it ok to soften vanila soy ice cream and re-freeze? I thought re- freezing was bad?? I've never heard of pumkin ice cream (in UK) and it sounds strange to me but I'm sure it tastes good. Guest guest
You don't thaw it just soften the ice cream. I put it in a bowl and when it is a little soft I take a wooden spoon and stir in pumpkin, cinnamon and cardamom and put back in the freezer to harden it. Guest guest
I make pumpkin milk shakes like this, by putting milk, ice cream, canned pumpkin and those spices or pumpkin pie spice. It is sooo good!!! Sam's Club carries the Cheesecake Factory Pumpkin Cheesecake from now until the new year. They do this every fall thru Jan. It is DELICIOUS! Guest guest
I soften ice cream by putting it in the refrigerator for a while. It seams to thaw more evenly. ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ .·´ -:¦:- Terri -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´ Genesis 2:15 The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it.
