Great recipe Dave.

What did you play in the band? I played a trumpet. I wanted to play drums but

the band teacher said I was too disruptive to the class so the trumpet would

keep me from talking hahaha

Re: Question of the Week - What foods do you

associate with fall and why?

I realize we're talking autumn and not winter, but cooler weather is

always a harbinger of Christmas, and thus reminds me of traditions

connected with that. Growing up we always served chili on Christmas

eve (and oyster stew - yuck!), so chili will always enjoy a special

place in my heart. It also goes GREAT with football on TV, another

autumn tie-in. My g-parents were huge Nebraska Cornhusker fans, and,

as a result so am I (although the past few years have been a little

ugly). I am also an alumnus of Nebraska and of the marching band.

With all the sentiment I associate with my favorite soup, I thought I

would present this recipe for veggie chili, which I plucked off the

Meatless Monday website. Perhaps it's already in the files, but it's

so good and easy, it deserves an encore.

Namaste.

I played trumpet. " God's instrument... "

I go down to Lincoln every year for the alumni band reunion.

Basically, it's a bunch of old geezers wandering around with moldy old

horns, telling lies about high notes they used to play... But it's a

cheap thrill, the best kind!
