Guest guest
HFCS - high fructose corn syrup wasn't even around 40 years ago. You can blame its popularity on the high tarriff on cane sugar imported. It doubles the price of sugar. There is also a corn sales subsidy to farmers for corn grown here in the US from the goverment which also raises its price to public consumers. The cheap alternative is concentrate HFCS in everything from soda to baked goods. It causes insulin resistance, obesity, etc. Go to Google and type in High Fructose Corn Syrup and you will get all kinds of discovery.
