Guest guest
I agree that any animal products including dairy are going to go bad. Most vegetable products are good until they wilt or get slimy. Even then I have eaten wilted produce. I eat molded cheese all the time though. It changes the flavor but it also is made often times with bacteria like Bleu cheese, Cheddar and Gouda. My rule is if you see mold that is black or green it may not be good. I have washed off mold on some soy products and cheese and eaten them. If you have the extra cash to buy more don't eat it, I cannot always afford to. The date put on there is put there by the producer for safety, for his company not to be sued, etc. they ere on the side of shortness. If sealed in plastic it usually is good until opened. Look at MRE's, in the service I ate foods from WW II that were 30 years old. Tom
Guest guest
Guys, bacteria are not detectable by the human senses. Look at all the eColi problems with spinach, jalapenos, tomatoes... I wouldn't eat food that is expired. But remember there is a difference between a " Use by " date and a " Best by " date.. " Best by " has to do with freshness and flavor. " Use by " has to do with the food's safety... Traci " You know what they say about high fructose corn syrup....That it's okay in moderation. " Is it? You've seen the commercial.
