Baked Apple And Pear Slices

cooking spray

2 medium Bosc pears, halved, cored

2 medium Gala, Red Delicious or Granny Smith apples, halved, cored

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

6 teaspoons sweetener

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Coat 2 baking sheets with cooking spray.

Using a very sharp knife, or slicing blade of a food processor, slice pears and

apples into 1/8-inch-thick slices.

Mix together cinnamon and Splenda in a small bowl. Place fruit slices in a

single layer on baking sheets and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture. Bake, rotating

baking sheets halfway through baking, until crisp and lightly browned, about 30

to 45 minutes.

Makes 2 servings.

This a great recipe, especially on cold winter mornings when you

want to eat something warm. I had tried a variation of this a few

days ago... just baked the apple/pear slices for about 5-7 minutes,

and after baking them, I drizzld honey and almond meal (coarsely

ground almond) on top. It was a great hit with my son. He did prefer

the baked apples to the bakes pears. And it was quite filling as

well :-)
